Alone with the One, Together:
An InterSpiritual Contemplative Retreat

with Janet (Nuria Ashki) F. Quinn, PhD, RN, FAAN

Description:

There is wisdom, truth and spiritual guidance available to each of us, flowing through thousands of years of evolution and millions of seeking hearts.  This wisdom, found at the root of all the world’s spiritual traditions and called the Perennial Philosophy, is our spiritual inheritance as human beings and is a precious resource for our life journey.  In every spiritual tradition, we are told that there is One, called by many names yet ultimately unnamable, and that we are already in deep, loving union with it in the secret cave of the heart.  The entire spiritual journey is about coming home to that One.

During this mostly silent retreat we will gather in sacred community for spiritual practices from several contemplative/mystical traditions, the sharing of poetry from the world's great mystics, and dialogue of the heart.  There will also be significant unstructured time to simply be, alone with the One.  Retreatants may explore the beautiful grounds, pray, rest, meditate, journal and/or have a brief individual session for spiritual guidance with Janet.  If you have not experienced silence in community before, you are in for a wonderful treat – deep communion happens in the silence, in the field, of those sharing such sacred space.  And where else but in the midst of this is the One?

Dates:  None scheduled at this time - please feel free to inquire about bringing this retreat to your location!
